About Us
The East Texas Tortoise, Lizard & Snake Rescue is a non profit located in Livingston Texas. We work to keep over bred animals from becoming "disposable pets". Animals like the sulcata tortoise, iguana, bearded dragon and ball python has become increasingly over bred and in many cases left without homes.
We work with the animals we know best. We take in large and small breed tortoises, lizards & snakes such as the ball python. We do not accept venomous breeds but can work with you to find the nearest rescue that does.
When applying to adopt an animal we do ask a non refundable donation of $25. This just helps us weed out the "flippers" and people that are not serious. If approved, you will be on the waiting list for animal you choose. There are no other fees or adoption prices.

Get On The Waiting List Today!
We work as more of a 3rd party locator than a permanent housing facility. It is very important to get on the waiting list if you are wanting to adopt. Most waits vary from 1 week to 6 months. But winter is our busiest season, due to rehoming colder climate tortoises. Our system works mainly because we have a list of approved homes ready when a tortoise is in need. All Adoptions Only $25 Donation
We never ask a rehoming fee! All adoptions are free after the $25 application fee. We ask for the application fee for all applicants, to help insure a serious home. If approved, this application fee covers your adoption.
